<action method="setTemplate"><template>page/3columns.phtml</template></action>

    Hello, my template does not have 3 column format but removing this:

    Line 100 catalogsearch.xml

    I managed to display in 3 columns.

      Do not let me put the XML in the previous comment I deleted that works for me
